Hi, I've just started using Griffith and I'm very impressed.

Unfortunately I've run into a problem when attempting to add a certain movie. Attempting to add the anime "Elfen Lied" will always result in a "Connection Error" dialog that cannot be closed. Gnome will eventually offer to force the program to quit if you click on the "ok" or close button often enough.

To reproduce:
    Select Movies -> Add
Enter "Elfen Lied" as the Original Title
    Click "Get from web" button
Select the entry "Elfen Lied" (2004)
    Click "Select" button

After a few seconds you should have an "Connection error" dialog that you cannot close.

I've managed to enter several movies so far with no problems... except this one.

Does anyone have any ideas?

What movie plugin are you using?

IMDb worked fine for me (at least version from SVN)
AniDB is not working at all (gzip issue again)

As far as I know I'm not using any plugins, this was a simple apt-get install of 0.6.1 from Debian (etch).
(But I'll check when I get back to my machine)

Is there any way of logging the transactions between Griffith and the online repositories it checks?

So you're probably using IMDb movie plugin, you can change it in "add window", just take a look at "Get movie data from" section in "Movie information" tab.

No, you can use debug mode (griffith --debug), but it will not give you informations about online stuff.

BTW: try to use 0.6.2 version - it's not official yet, but it fixes some problems with movie plugins (and adds new ones). This version is also "new Debian Python policy" ready

PS I'm reproducing it now, I'll try to fix it

Thanks Pox, I've upgraded to 0.6.2, which exhibits the same problem with that title when using IMDB, but I followed your advice and switched to a different source for that movie which worked... albeit with the movie details in Polish Smiley

Phew, I'm always relieved when someone else is able to reproduce a bug... it means my problem wasn't of the PEBKAC type.
