hi,
I'm using griffith and evolution. for loan management i have to create the contacts again, though they're already in evolution. so how about a function that you can use the adressbook in evolution for loan management? is this too much of a hassle? since evo is the default mail/pim in gnome in would be nice to have this sort of connection between the diffrent apps.

thanks

I don't have Evolution installed, but if it uses some kind of standardized database for contacts (LDAP?) than it will be possible to do. At least for importing data from it. To be honest, I don't think sharing contacts with other app. could work well, so exporting/importing is only choice.

well, i find the idea of sharing data between apps highly desireable, cause you really should have only one place where you manage your contacts, etc. i believe on the mac this is similar?

on the other hand a feature like letting me use my own emailclient to send reminders would also be interesting.
like

click email reminder
whatever mailclient i use pops up and the movie title is inserted in the mailbody.
(just like when you rightclick a link in firefox and then choosing 'send link')

this way i still have to insert the recipient myself, but i can also put in some friendly or not so friendly text. also this would help people that are not being able to send mails through griffith cause their provider works with certificates (like mine).

so a feature in preferences for mail would also be fine.
like

use griffith and fill in the desired info for the mailserver.
or
use standard emailclient.

does this makes sense?

have a nice day

I agree that it would be nice to use Griffith with Evolution.  I run both ubuntu and windows xp and, like yours, there are versions for both - therefore a perfect match for each other.  I do believe the database format is compatible because they both use *.db type database.  Sometimes arranged marriages work well.
