After installing version .12.0 or .12.1 on two different machines (laptop and PC) running XP home SP3, the program fails to start with the error message;-
"Unable to execute file
c:\Program File\Griffith\griffith.exe
CreateProcess failed: code 14001
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem."
Reinstalling does not fix the problem however if I install version 0.11 there is no problem.
On checking the event viewer , a sidebyside error message was observed with an explanation of "Resolve partial assembly failed for Microsoft VC90.crt .
Has anyone had this problem and how was it resolved.
PS I have version 0.12.0 running succesfully on a Windows7 machine, but am reluctant to upgrade to 0.12.1 until the above problem is resolved.

Any suggestions please

Please try to install the
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=A5C84275-3B97-4AB7-A40D-3802B2AF5FC2&displaylang=en

It seems to me that some of the common windows libraries are missing. That can happen for example with a fresh and clean windows xp installation. Windows 7 includes all of the necessary dlls.

Many thanks MIke,
I installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) as advised  and then installed 12.1. It worked first time. I have now installed it on both XP machines and upgrade to 12.1 on the windows 7 machine. Thanks again Mike.
