We (me and my brother) have a collection of about 500 dvds...
I use linux, my brother is on windowxp. I also have a linux laptop.
He started tp manage the collection with griffith, so i've installed it too.
no problems so far (except i have to convert sqlite db from 3.x to 2.x to make it work on linux
(i wrote a bash script for this task if anyone is interested ask)

now, what i want to know is if there's a way to mantain 1 db, not 3. Right now i have to manually export db from my brother's pc, then convert it and then import it... then repeat for laptop. Can we share the db on the net? We have a small linux server we use for proxy/fw/ecc ecc.... if i can host the db on the server and the share it on the lan?

sorry for my poor english
Giacomo

With next Griffith version you will be able to:
* use external databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL for now) - all you need to do is enter hostname, user name, password and port in preferences - there's still a problem with posters which are saved locally.
* share database between Linux and Windows (they're compatible now, SQLite3 is used) - SAMBA comes in mind here

You can try SVN version, but it's not ready yet (i.e. it's not compatible with old database format)
