Goodbye

Norm

just to be clear: google account is not required to subscribe one of the lists, it's not even required to be subscribed in order to post a new message...

Thats not true. Yesterday I tried to post a message there and it wanted me to enter my Google account data, which I don't have. Beside that - I don't feel very comfortable with Google (nor Facebook et. al.). I think it's a shame so many good sites and forums are shutting down and are only available through Google, Facebook and similar privacy nightmares.

hmm... Google indeed requires an account for the web version of groups. You can subscribe a group by sending an email to griffith-foo+subscribe@googlegroups.com, though (replace foo with announce/user/devel/german/polish)

I requested subscription on gmane.org, so soon you will be able to subscribe via gmane or use its web archive/USENET interface

gmane.org groups / mailing lists / archives were just created. Please give them a honest try.

By now it is affirmed that BerliOS will keep on existing, there are other people organizing the site and confirm they shall maintain it permanently.
My question is whether the Griffith forum is going to renew its activity on this site or not. I personally would appreciate the first of these possibilities - I never really found out how to connect to the new, alternative site, be it Google (which I don't like) or anything else. Provided the new forum does exist at all.
Eager to read new posts here and finding information on the advancement of a really good software
