Hi!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Griffith 0.9~rc1 has been released as a Christmas gift,
see below for a list of the most important changes.

This release is marked as "Release Candidate" due to:
* database format change (if you have any problems send us the
~/.griffith/griffith.gri file or `griffith --debug' output)
* translations are not finished (translators need more time)

You can find source tarballs and Debian/Ubuntu packages on our website.
Windows version is not available yet, but we're working on it...

Too bad it's not for Ubuntu 6.06 (Dapper Drake) Sad
It has unresolved dependencies there like python-central and python-sqlalchemy.
dpkg output (on Dapper):

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
griffith: Depends: python-central (>= 0.5.Cool but it is not installable
Depends: python-gtk2 (>= 2.8.6-1) but 2.8.6-0ubuntu1 is to be installed
Depends: python-glade2 (>= 2.8.6-1) but 2.8.6-0ubuntu1 is to be installed
Depends: python-sqlalchemy (>= 0.3.0-1) but it is not installable
Depends: python-pysqlite2 (>= 2.3.0-1) but 2.0.5-1ubuntu1 is to be installed
Depends: python-reportlab (>= 1.20debian-6) but 1.20debian-3ubuntu1 is to be installed
Depends: python-imaging (>= 1.1.5-6) but 1.1.5-4ubuntu1 is to be installed

I've installed Griffith 0.9~rc1 deb in Kubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake with forced install of python-central_0.5.6ubuntu2 from Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy Eft) and python-sqlalchemy_0.3.1 from Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn - release in alpha stage).
First I tried to launch griffith without use of these packages but it said it can't find sqlalchemy python plugin, then I tried to force Edgy's python-sqlalchemy_0.2.8-1 package - it didn't help as it looks like python-central needs to be installed too. Then I have installed Edgy's python-central_0.5.6ubuntu2 and (forced) reinstall of sqlalchemy (Edgy package) - griffith has launched, rebuilt database and put some errrors for 'Select' in the console and didn't show any films on the list - sqlalchemy 0.2.8 is too old for griffith. So I forced to use Feisty's python-central_0.5.12ubuntu1 and python-sqlalchemy_0.3.1 (sqlalchemy 0.3.1 has python-central >= 0.5.8 dependency) but it get me in the point as griffith can't find sqlalchemy, so for the final I have installed Edgy's python-central and Feisty's python-sqlalchemy. Then the griffith worked as it should. All the tricks with new python packages worked because there are not glibc but only python dependent.
So to use this new deb file with 0.9~rc1 version of Griffith on Dapper you have to force installation of python-central_0.5.6ubuntu2 and python-sqlalchemy_0.3.1-1 packes (both available on packages.ubuntu.com).

I have tested the apllication for hour (maybe hour and half) and it looks it works as it should - no apllication bugs found (yet ;-) ).

All I found are two bugs in Polish plugins:
1. WP plugin don't get rate ("Ocena")
2. Filmweb plugin puts Title in Original title position and Original title in Title position.

I have tested:
1. Add new films with getting data from plugins: WP, Onet, Filmweb, FDB, Stopklatka,
2. Sorting list on few criterias,
3. Selecting which columns to show,
4. Getting posters from Amazon (I'm not sure, but I think there were positions which the old version 0.6.2 didn't get because of picture format and now in the new version 0.9~rc1 it worked),
5. Adding video and audio codec information and set default options for media,
6. Changing the viewed (Obejrzany) attribute status,
6. Export of database to HTML tables - gray style (with all columns and changing the posters size).
7. Not remember what else...

And everything worked without problems.
I'd like to thank you for yours great work - I really like that new version :-)

I have forget to tell you that I used the new version with old database (from griffith 0.6.2 - sqlite2) with ~200 positions and Griffith 0.9~rc1 properly converted the database to new format (sqlite3 with new structure) - no data has been lost, everything was there and database conversion took 10-15 seconds.
