I agree with everyone else, great program!! :-)

Here's a few things on my wishlist:

* When exporting to HTML, rename each poster file to match its corresponding database ID

* add the option to include the poster name as a field when exporting to CSV

The reason why I'd like this option is because I'm using Griffith to build a database of movies, which I'm then going to export to tabelled html or csv.  I'm then going to edit this file so I can eventually import it to a PHP/mySQL database program for my website.  I'll then use this PHP program to update the database via a browser.  If that makes any sense. ;-)

Therefore it would be handy if the poster names matched the ID's of the entries.

Again, thanks for the great program!

Posters will (most probably) have names like movie_id column in next version.

Just wondering if there's any chance this might still make it in a near-future release? I'm going to hold off doing some major editing to an output from Griffith if this might be added soon.

Thanks for any info.

Hi,

I think the number of the movie which is shown in the movie list would be a better choice
than the "invisible" movie_id.
But I'm not sure how I should format the name. At the moment I implemented a version
which pads the names with zeros at the left side e.g. number 15 is formatted as 000015.jpg

Is that ok or should the poster names only contain the pure number (15.jpg) ?

Michael

Edit:
I forgot, the base name of the image is exported as the last field in the destination file.

By database ID I did mean to suggest just the number as listed in the griffith window, so entry 854 corresponds to 854.jpg, entry 2 corresponds to 2.jpg, etc.

So for me, it would be great if when exported and the images are resized, they could be renamed to match the database listing number, whether it's exported to html or csv.

I forgot, the base name of the image is exported as the last field in the destination file.

Not sure what this means, but I get the original filename whenever I export it, there's no change.

You mentioned you made a change (re: 000015.jpg), will this version be made available anytime soon? I'm itching to export about 1000 entries into a csv so I can import to my website database structure, but this naming issue is holding me back.

Thanks,
Brad

I only changed the html export. With the next official version of griffith will that change be available.

The CSV export plugin writes the name of the image as last column of each entry in the destination file. It uses the original name of the
image because it did not copy the image files like the html export plugin does.

Hi Mike,

Any idea when the next official version will be released, the one with your html export change?

I don't know.
But I made an inofficial version available:
http://mitglied.lycos.de/codestuff/
Attention: That release is only for testing purposes.
But it contains most of the latest changes. You can't switch back to the last official 0.9.5 version without
some manuell work.
Ofcourse there should be no problem with switching from the inofficial release to next new official version.
I released only a windows version because I have no running Linux system.
