Hi,
I am new to griffith. So far a very nice program (and free - i already love it))! Thx ;-)

Will there be any Functionality to Import Data from other formats?
A simple csv (or otherway seperated txt-) Format-Import should be sufficiant, as many other programs are able to export data into that format, or can easily be converted.
Ok - posters won't be imported that way, but it still would help migrating existing databases/lists.
I Think it would help people moving to this great program.

Best regards!

As I already told here (on polish forum) import from CSV (and other formats in future) is one of 3 features that are on top of my private TODO list. Other two are: advanced search engine and moving all edit/update data to add window.

I agree with all of the above but to add my own, I would love to use this app but I already have over 1000 movies in my "gcfilms" program. I honestly like "griffith" better but I am not about to re-enter 1000 movies again.

When the import feature works, I will look at this again.

What a shame.

In my humble opinion, the author should have made that a priority over all else before even releasing the app. I'm sure therr are plenty of peole out there who have exisiting data and are not ready to re-enter. But that's just my opinion. And who am I to criticize such a lovely piece of work. Grin

However, I give much kudos to the author for an excellent app. I really look forward to using it.

I cant see the point in your posting, except that you are blaming the author for not having done something on a piece of software you are using for free. One always knows better afterwards, but is it really necessary  to point that out then?
('Cause everybody knows better meanwhile).

Btw.: a 1000 movies? Whatelse are doing with your life? SCNR

Excuse me. I think you totally misunderstood my message.
Number 1, more than once I praised the author for good work. I too write apps and I always welcome constuctive critiscm.

It doesn't matter if it's free. If it's published then it's for everyone and not personal.

Second, it's close to 1500 moives. I like collecting movies. Sue me. Grin

Honestly, I am in no way condemning this good work. But my opinion was stated becuase I really want to use this program. If the author wants more people to use it then he must listen to the voice of those who would use it.

Lastly, before anyone else sends me hate mail Roll Eyes, let me state boldly:

THIS IS EXCELLENT SOFTWARE. THE AUTHOR DESERVES AN AWARD FOR IT

Does that state my opinion clearly.

allright then... meant no offense anyway... just thought it's not very motivating for the author stating the obvious ;-)
So let's see when we can benefit from the new features.. hopefully soon, as i am (just like you) not willing to type in all titles again ;-)
Cheers!
