how about adding a catagory field to go along with collection and volume?
ie:
catagory:  TV Shows
collection:  X-Files
volume:  S01E01

It makes sense to me but maybe I am missing something...

and do we really need the cameraman field?

I'm seriously opposed to eliminating the 'cameraman'.
In my opinion this/these people are almost as relevant to the quality of a film as the director, sometimes perhaps even more with a mediocre director. So, please keep 'cameraman'.
